Tate Fabricio Orlando Kest

At the age of 17, of Clayton, Missouri, passed away peacefully at Evelyn’s Hospice on August 31, 2024 after a courageous battle with leukemia. Born on April 2nd, 2007 in Mixco, Guatemala (Adoptive Birth City, Paducah, KY). Tate brought joy and laughter to all who knew him.

Tate is survived by his mother, Emily Sperry and father, Daren Kest and older sister, Ella Kest. Cherished Maternal Grandparents: Warren and Jody Sperry; Uncles: Marty (Tish, Parker, Rhiley, Nora) Sperry; Adam (Kim) Sperry.

His chosen family: Tammy Feltner and family, Danijela Boric and family, Tina Murtha and family, Margie Koch and family and “big sisters” Samantha Pokorny and Jessica Walker.

Paternal grandparents: Sandra Hirsch Rohm and Marion Kest; Uncles/Aunt: Bryan, Jonny, and Tony Kest and Halle Hirsch.

Tate was best known for his passion for video games and his adventurous palate—especially his love for spicy foods—and the countless hours he spent playing board games with family. His competitive spirit, quick wit, and generous heart made him a joy to be around, whether he was strategizing during a game night or leveling up in his favorite video games.

Tate's memory will be forever treasured by his parents, family, and community. Though his time with us was far too short, the impact he made on those around him will be felt for years to come.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2024 from 3-6pm at Ambruster Chapel, 6633 Clayton Rd Saint Louis, MO  63117, followed by a Celebration of Life at Maryland Walk rooftop from 7pm- 9pm, where family and friends are invited to share their favorite memories and stories of Tate.

Services will be held on Sunday, September 8, 2024 at 2pm at Samuel Church, 320 N Forsyth Blvd Clayton, MO  63105.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Gwendolyn’s gifts or the Child Life Services at St. Louis Children’s Hospital at Child Life Services | St. Louis Children's Hospital
