Carol Ann Chickey

Carol Ann Chickey, born to Raymond and Mary (nee Higgins) Huellinghorst on November 10, 1934, peacefully passed away surrounded by loved ones. She leaves behind a legacy cherished by her family and friends.

Carol is remembered with love by her brother Thom Huellinghorst, sister Jean Bobbitt, and her children and their spouses: Matthew and wife Patti, Theresa and husband John, Luke, John and wife Jennifer, Jimmy and wife Maryann, and daughter-in-law Jane. Her presence will also be missed by her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all who knew her. She is preceded in death by her son Mark.

Throughout her life, Carol nurtured an insatiable intellectual curiosity that enriched her journey. She cultivated a beautiful life adorned with love, cherished friendships, and a commitment to exploring unconventional paths. From meticulously completing house renovations to delving into music, art history and photography, Carol's creativity knew no bounds. She found solace and joy in music, and her engagement with politics underscored her dedication to community and social change.

In her final act of generosity, Carol donated her body to the Washington University School of Medicine, continuing her lifelong commitment to learning and advancing knowledge.

A Celebration of Life honoring Carol Chickey's remarkable journey is scheduled for Sunday, July 21 at 1pm-4pm at Glen Echo Country Club -  3401 Lucas and Hunt Road, St. Louis, MO 63121. There will be no service.  

Our Mom hoped that this event would be a happy affair - full of stories and laughter.  Her spirit will forever inspire those whose lives she touched.
