Loretta Ann (Crowley) Cowie
Age 79, passed away peacefully on June 12, 2024 after a four-year battle with Lewy Body Dementia. Beloved wife of the late William James Cowie. Dearest mother of Bill (Karen), Mary (Matt), John (Elizabeth), Matt (Darcy), and Mark (Kara). Cherished grandmother (Mimi) of ten -- Ashton, Nathan, McKenna, Aiden, Erin, Evie, Nora, Mason, Mylo, and William. Beloved sister to Virginia Cook, Bob Crowley, and Joe (Alma) Crowley. Loretta was preceded in death by her sisters Blanche Vandiver, Kathy Banta, and her brother John Crowley.
Loretta lit up every room she entered and brought smiles and love to everyone in her path. She loved watching movies, reading, listening to music, and she had a beautiful singing voice. Loretta was an exceptional baker and never missed an opportunity to share her delicious desserts. Loretta treasured the time with her husband Bill, and they especially enjoyed traveling together. She loved her children, grandchildren, siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins and was a dear friend to all that knew her.
According to her wishes, Loretta donated her body to St. Louis University School of Medicine. A Celebration of Life gathering will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 24, 2024 in the Great Hall of Ambruster Chapel, 6633 Clayton Rd. St. Louis, MO 63117. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Lewy Body Dementia Association (LBDA.org).
