Ronald F. Pfeiffer, Sr.

Native of St. Louis, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 11, 2024, at the age of 82. "The Chief was born on July 7, 1942, and raised in Richmond Heights. He spent his early years at Church of the Little Flower Catholic School and then attended CBC High School. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy and served four years on the USS Chivo Submarine. When he returned home, he decided that being a police officer was his life path. He completed his associate's degree at St. Louis Community College with Honors and continued his education at Maryville University, earning a Bachelor of Science with Honors majoring in Legal Justice with a minor in Law Enforcement. He managed these scholarly accomplishments while working full-time as a patrolman at the Richmond Heights Police Department and raising his family. He spent his entire career at the RHPD, serving with bravery, integrity, and humor for 43 years. He advanced through the ranks and was promoted to Chief in 1992. He retired in 2007. Chief Pfeiffer is survived by: his three children, Ronald F. Pfeiffer, Jr. of St. Louis, Missouri; Melissa (Andy Foerstel) Pfeiffer, of Brentwood, Missouri; and Jason Pfeiffer, of Fenton, Missouri; his grandchildren Mickey, Jacob, and Ella; and his sisters Maureen Miller and Kathy Copenhaver. His many cousins, nieces and nephews always had a special place in his heart.

SERVICES: A gathering for friends and family to visit and to honor Chief Pfeiffer will be held at Ambruster Chapel in Clayton on Sunday, November 3rd from 4pm — 8pm with eulogy at 6pm. Refreshments will be served. Mass will be held at Church of the Little Flower in Richmond Heights at 10am Monday, November 4th with interment following at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery at 12:30pm.
