Margaret W. “Memaw” (née Maupay) Blair

Margaret W. “Memaw” Blair, née Maupay, 89, of St. Louis, MO, born March 8, 1934, in Ambler, PA, died peacefully surrounded by family on September 2, 2023, at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital, St. Louis, MO.

Margaret was a loving wife, mother and homemaker, as well as a devoted Memaw and caregiver to her beloved grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ross and Nora, née Wilkerson, husband Dean and 11 siblings.

 Surviving are daughters, Shelly (Ronnie) Swackhammer, Darlene (Dr. Mark) Blair-Wade; 6 grandchildren, Sharon, Cyndi Anne, Jean, Katie, Averie and Ella Margaret; 14 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great granddaughter, 1 sister, Sally Johnson and numerous nieces and nephews.

SERVICES: Visitation: Friends and family may visit from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. Sunday, September 10, 2023, at Ambruster Chapel, Clayton, MO 63117. Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday, September 11, 2023, at Ambruster Chapel, with Rev. Lawrence Herzog officiating. Burial will be at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO.
