Janet Lynn Griffard

On Sunday December 24, 2023, at rest. Beloved wife of Stephen Griffard; Dear mother of Stephen Christopher Griffard and Neal Patrick Griffard; Sister of Jim Whitfield of Quincy, Illinois, preceded in death by sister Kay Whitfield; and beloved friend to many.

Janet passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family. She was a dedicated educator - after earning her Masters in Library Science, she served as school librarian for 21 years at Rockwood South Middle School. Outside the library Janet was an avid quilter, a practitioner of Qi’Gong, and a lifelong reader. She loved to travel with her husband, loved the beach, and to spend time in nature.

SERVICES: A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2024 in the Great Hall of Ambruster Chapel from 12pm until 2pm. A memorial service will follow at 2pm.  A reception will  follow the service.
