Carol L. (Née Aitken) Rossel
On March 22, 2021, Carol (Aitken) L. Rossel (Saint Louis, Missouri), passed away peacefully in her home at the age of 89. She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Selma Aitken. She was a Graduate of Cleveland High School, Class of 1949 and an active Alumni member. Carol and her husband Lawrence J. Rossel were married in 1954. They made their home in University City, Missouri, where they lived together until her beloved husband preceded her in death. She was loved and cherished by her children, Lynn, William (Char Riegel), Steven and Neal; her nine grandchildren; Kevin Rossel (Emily), Katie Radake, Andy Rossel, Maggie Wright (Taylor), Casey Acklin, Lindsey Rossel, Amanda Rossel, Gus Rossel, Dez Rossel Angel, Michelle, Monielle, Mikelle; her five great grandchildren Bobbie Radake, Cora Rossel, Isla Rossel, Jack Wright, Noah Wright; her nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
Carol was appointed the first Director of University City’s Residential Services Board, she loved serving the University City community, and was active with the Parks department, House and Garden tours and Historical Society. She was proprietor of P. K. Estate Sales for thirteen years, from which she retired in 1989. Carol lived a full life, a favorite pastime was swimming at Heman Park pool. She also enjoyed traveling, photography, playing cards, scrapbooking, teddy bears, entertaining her many friends, and spending time with family. Carol will be deeply missed.
SERVICES: Visitation, Sunday, April 11th, 11am - 1pm with service at 1:30 pm. Repast to follow at St. Ann’s Parish Hall 7530 Natural Bridge Rd., Normandy MO 63121. Entombment private.
