Myar Thway
Myar passed away on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at the age of 77, surrounded by her loving family. She will be missed by all, especially her Church family at St. Louis Central SDA.
Myar was born on January 1, 1944, in Burma to Mu Gay and Tha Thway. She is the youngest of three girls. Myar Married Gaw Gay and they were happily married for 51 years.
Myar and Gaw had six children, four preceded her in death. Their remaining children are Paw Blah and Mu Lay Lay. Paw Blah moved to America in 2007 with her family, while Mu Lay Lay and her family remain in the Mae la Refugee camp in Thailand.
Myar Thway and Gaw Gay moved to America in 2012 to live with their daughter, Son-in-Law Poe Lee, and 4 grandchildren, Paw Htoo, Paw Say, Eh Say Paw, and Poe Dah Ler.
In the U.S., Myar Thway learned about God and the love of Jesus. She was baptized and became a member of the St. Louis Central Seventh-Day-Adventist Church soon after moving to America.
Myar Thway was known to be a very hardworking and peaceful person. She had one of the most caring hearts, often putting everyone’s needs above her own. She loved cooking, cleaning, singing and dancing. She loved seeing family and friends who would often visit her.
Grandma will be missed deeply, but through her shining example, she has encouraged us all to always be peaceful and loving towards one another. That is her special legacy she has left with us.
